Remedial Massage

Remedial massage at Bonbeach Health & Wellness is a considered and supportive form of therapeutic care, designed to address muscular tension, discomfort and restriction while honouring the body’s nervous system.

Rather than applying force, each session is guided by assessment, presence and responsiveness. We recognise that pain and tension are often influenced by stress, posture, emotional load and the nervous system’s state, and therefore require a thoughtful, whole-body approach.

Treatments aim to support muscular release, improve movement and circulation, and encourage the body to shift out of holding patterns. Sessions are unhurried and tailored, allowing space for both effective remedial work and deep relaxation to coexist.

Remedial massage is beneficial for ongoing muscular tension, stress-related tightness, postural strain, injury recovery and general physical fatigue.

Techniques & Tools Used in Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage Techniques

Targeted hands-on techniques used to address muscular tension, discomfort and restriction. Applied with sensitivity and intention to support relief, mobility and overall balance.

Myofascial Release

A gentle, sustained approach to working with the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds muscles and organs. Helps improve movement, ease restriction and support the body’s natural alignment.

Trigger Point Therapy

Focused work on areas of muscular tension that refer pain or discomfort elsewhere in the body. Applied gradually and thoughtfully to encourage release without overwhelming the nervous system.

Muscle Scraping (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Work)

Smooth tools are used to gently encourage circulation, reduce fascial restriction and support tissue health. Always applied with care and responsiveness to the body’s feedback.

Cupping Therapy

Silicone or suction cups are used to gently lift the tissue, supporting circulation, fascial mobility and release of stagnant tension. Often experienced as spacious and relieving rather than forceful.

Dry Needling

Where clinically appropriate, fine needles may be used to target areas of muscular tightness and encourage neuromuscular release. This technique is applied conservatively and with client consent.

Infrared Light Therapy

Gentle infrared warmth used to support circulation, tissue relaxation and nervous system settling. Often integrated to enhance comfort and relaxation during treatment.

Hot Stone Therapy

Warm stones are used to soften tissue, encourage circulation and support deep relaxation. Particularly helpful for calming the nervous system and allowing muscles to release more easily.

Moxibustion

A traditional warming technique used to gently stimulate circulation and support energy flow. Applied carefully to provide a sense of warmth, comfort and grounding.

Assisted Stretching

Supported stretches used to gently improve mobility, ease restriction and encourage the body into more comfortable ranges of movement without strain.

Breathing Techniques

Simple, guided breathing may be incorporated to support nervous system regulation, helping the body shift into a state where therapeutic work can be more effective.

Acupressure Point Work

Gentle pressure applied to specific points to support relaxation, circulation and nervous system balance, complementing hands-on bodywork.

All techniques are selected and integrated based on individual presentation and clinical appropriateness, with care taken to ensure each session feels safe, supportive and deeply restorative.
